SELEUKID KINGS. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes (Grypos), 121/0-97/6 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 12.87 g, 12 h), Askalon, SE 203 = 110/9. Diademed and draped bust of Antiochos VIII to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ - ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ Eagle, wings closed, standing left; behind, palm frond; in field to left, AΣ above IEP and AΣY above dove standing left between legs, monogram; to right, ΓΣ. HGC 9, 1203. SC 2339.4 var. (differing monogram between legs). Very rare. Rough surfaces, otherwise, very fine.
